Giddish pronounced her exit from the NBC procedural in August, certifying that she would leave as a full-time cast part during the impending season. The performer joined SVU as Criminal specialist Amanda Rollins around the start of season 13 nearby Danny Pino following Chris Meloni’s surprising trip close to the completion of season 12. ET chatted with Hargitay on the Law and Solicitation cover in New York on Monday, where she discussed Giddish’s departure from the show.
“Benevolent god, Kelli. I love Kelli, she’s my young woman,” Hargitay, who is moreover a central creator on SVU, told ET’s Rachel Smith. “She is one of my #1 performers that I’ve anytime worked with and we got to build something really exquisite together and genuinely acquired together considering the way that our characters had a lot of an outing. It wasn’t so normal close to the beginning and subsequently we just fell into this beautiful security, trust.”
“That was a hard one. I will miss that since she was my go-toward, my right hand, the woman that I could chat with,” she said. “Olivia Benson’s out there managing all the others and she was somebody that really managed me and took care of me. In spite of the way that Equilibrium takes care of me and Stabler takes care of me, it’s different to have a woman have you covered since it’s a substitute perspective.”

“I will miss her a ton, but she’s a dependable friend and I’m essentially glad that our ways crossed, and I understand they’ll continue to cross,” Hargitay ensured.
At the hour of her statement, Giddish presented a finish on house note on Instagram clearing up her decision for leave SVU.
“I expected to address the chatter I’ve seen on the web and let everyone know that this will, certainly, be my continue to go season on ‘Guideline and Solicitation: SVU,’” Giddish made by then. “Playing Rollins has been perhaps of the best joy and praises of my life.
I’ve been so fortunate to be a piece of the ‘Law and Solicitation’ family all through the past 12 years. There is basically no one else on TV like Rollins. She’s created and changed, and I have as well. I started this show when I was in my late 20s and I’m grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life.”
While Hargitay will express farewell to one individual, she has a ton to expect on Thursday with the three-show debut crossover event with Guideline and Solicitation and Guideline and Solicitation: Facilitated Bad behavior.
“It was essentially so fun,” she said of working reverse various ventures. “As an issue of some significance, it’s reliably an enjoyment to work with Chris and for us to be back together. It essentially feels like home and Camryn [Manheim] and I have been allies for a really long time and getting to work with her – – considering the way that when she recently came over I was like, ‘Are we going to have scenes together?’

Clearly we didn’t considering the way that we’re on different shows. Hence, working with the performers and getting to go outside our wilderness exercise center and blending with different characters raises different things. Absolutely getting to work with this large number of marvelous performers in a substitute breaking point, but yet we all are like cousins. There’s this familial quality to it that is so flawless.”
